Congress will distribute about ten thousand compact discs (CDs) showing the Youth Akali Dal president and the Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia hurling abuses at Congress MLA Rana Gurjeet Singh inside the Punjab Vidhan Sabha.

Talking to reporters after filing of the nomination papers by the party candidate Vijay Sathi for the Moga byelection here today, Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh said, the party had made ten thousand copies of the CD and were being distributed among the people and whosoever wanted to see it, screen it or play it was free to do that. The PCC president maintained that it was important to screen and play the CD to show the actual face of this government to the people who are already upset over the state of affairs. He said, the CD only reflected what was going on all over Punjab as even police were not feeling safe here anymore.Replying to a question about the permission for playing the CD, the PCC president said, it was already in the air and people had already downloaded and recorded it since it was shown live from the Vidhan Sabha. He pointed out, what Majithia said in assembly was telecast live with the Speaker’s permission only and people recorded at that time only.

Asked about the issues the Congress will be raising in the byelection, Capt Amarinder accompanied by CWC Jagmeet Brar, former Chief Minister Ms Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, Congress Legislative Party leader Sunil Jakhar and Gurdaspur MP Partap Bajwa, said the anarchy and lawlessness and the state of economy will be raised at all stages.

Capt Amarinder said, he will be camping here from today right till the end of the election campaign on February 21 after which no outsider is allowed to stay in the constituency. He expressed confidence that the party will win by a good margin and will set a record against the government.

On the issue of the deployment of central security forces for the elections, the PCC president said, he had urged the Election Commission of India for the same and hoped positive outcome on the issue. He reiterated that the police were under tremendous pressure and it will be difficult for them to work freely since the Akalis are in power.

Capt Amarinder also said, the party had also sought the transfer of the Moga SSP who has been posted here on the eve of the elections. He said, there is a general impression that the SSP is close to the ruling establishment and has been on the field posting for last six years of the Akali government.
