Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran has introduced Bachelor in Business Administration-Service Industry Management (BBA-SIM) course. Affiliated to PTU, BBA (SIM) is a three-year undergraduate course. It will prepare students to benefit from the myriad career avenues available in banking, retail, finance, facility management, insurance, tourism, hospitality, education, telecom, real estate, airlines, health, media & entertainment, teaching and other related services sectors.The service industry has emerged as a significant contributor to the Indian economy and the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). This has further created high demand for skilled professionals in the field thereby ushering positive hiring trends. BBA (SIM) will train students in entrepreneurship, operation management, customer relationship management, retail management; financial resource management, regulatory framework for service industry and others related concepts.Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC Landran and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC Landran said, “The service sector is expected to grow at a rate of 8.3 per cent in 2017-18 with its contribution India’s Gross Value Added (GVA) growth being 72.5 per cent as pet the Economic survey 2017-18. This has led to a surge in jobs in the services industry thereby increasing the demand for multi-skilled industry-ready professionals. This course would help address this need by augmenting the students’ management/entrepreneurial skills while training them to become effective business leaders.”
