Welfare of women, youth, poor, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes was the priority of the State Government and several welfare schemes have been announced in the budget for the welfare of these sections. This was stated by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing a largely attended public meeting at Mela Ground Hat (Bajaura) in Kullu district today.The Chief Minister said that not even a single day had passed since the present State Government assumed office, that the Government has not taken decisions or initiatives for the welfare of the people. He said that the central leadership has full faith in the present state government and thus it becomes duty of the Government to come upto their expectations. He said that the Government was working with a set target and it was the matter of satisfaction that the 100 days were witness of unprecedented development.Jai Ram Thakur said that the law and order situation in the State was completely out of order during the previous regime. Drug mafia, mining mafia and transfer mafia were ruling during the tenure of previous Government, he added. He said that the present State Government soon after assuming office launched Gudiya Help Line and Shakti Help Button for ensuring safety of women and Hoshiyar Singh Helpline for checking various illegal activities like illegal mining, drug peddling etc.He said that Mukhiya Mantri Lok Bhawans would be constructed in all the Assembly constituencies of the State. He said that provision of Rs 30 lakh has been made for this in each Assembly constituency. He said that steps had been taken to protect abandoned cattle. He said that recently he had called on Prime Minister at New Delhi after completing 100 days of the present Government and he was satisfied over the achievements of the State Government.

The Chief Minister announced Rs. 3.70 crore for Nature Learning Centre Banjar, Rs. 30 lakh for Lok Bhawan and Rs. 15 lakh for additional Lok Bhawan in the constituency. He also announced Rs. 20 lakh for Panarsa-Dalasha road, Rs. 10 lakh for construction of Sanan Ghat and Rs. five lakh each for construction of Sarai in Balak Nath and Mahunag temples.He laid foundation stone of lift irrigation scheme to Reri Mashgan at Sarabai to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 231.30 lakh.He inaugurated 33 KV Sub Station at Sarabai constructed at a cost of Rs. 337.32 lakh and laid foundation stones of Interpretation Centre of GHNP to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 220 lakh at Shamshi and Lift Irrigation Scheme at Pirdi to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 100.80 lakh.He also inaugurated car parking near Kala Kendra, Dhalpur constructed at a cost of Rs 122.21 lakh.Transport and Forest Minister Govind Singh Thakur said that the day one of the present State Government was historic as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah and over a dozen Chief Minister of different State participated in the swearing in ceremony. He urged the Chief Minister to construct an entry gate at Bajaura, since it was an entry point of Kullu district. He said that rope way would be constructed soon between Pandoh to Baglamukhi Mata temple. He said that this would give a big boost to the tourism activities in the area.

Member of Parliament Ram Swaroop Sharma said that the 100 days achievements of the present State Government were an eye opener and inspiration for the other States as well. He said that the budget presented by the Chief Minister was historic in itself as it had 30 new schemes for welfare of the people of the area. He said that Rs. 50 crore had been earmarked for Bhanupalli-Bilaspur-Manali-Leh Rail line. MLA, Banjar Surender Shouri said that the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was ensuring welfare of weaker sections of the society. He said that the State Government raised employment days under MNREGA from 100 days to 120 days. He also detailed various developmental demands of the area. He said that the State would scale new heights under the leadership of Jai Ram Thakur. He urged the Chief Minister to develop Banjar area from tourism point of view.Bhupinder Kumar and Pawan Kumar of Manali presented a cheque of Rs 51,000 to the Chief Minister towards CMRF.BJP Mandal President Chunni Lal Thakur welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries on the occasion.MPP and Power Minister Anil Sharma, MLA's Ani Kishori Lal and Jawahar Thakur, District BJP President Bhim Sain Sharma, OSD to Chief Minister Shishu Dharma, Advisor Chief Minister Trilok Jamwal, Deputy Commissioner Kullu Yunus, SP Mandi Shalini Agnihotri were present on the occasion among others.
