Minister of State in Prime Minister’s office Dr Jitendra Singh Saturday felicitated Nisha Rani, a class 10th student of Government Higher Secondary School Kud who had gone on hunger strike to persuade her parents to construct Individual Household latrine at home.The girl started the struggle for IHHL after an awareness programme was organised by district administration in their school regarding Swach Bharat Abhiyan.Dr Jitendra Singh appreciated the zeal of the girl to take such a step to bring about a positive change in her home and society which shall inspire others to work for success of ‘Swachh Bharat Mission'.Dr Jitendra Singh said that the girl has become an ambassador of the mission and we are not only felicitating her but also express our gratitude to her for efforts which shall strenthen the Open defecation free mission of the district.He said government's scheme require active partaking of the people in bringing about a positive perceptible change in the countryMember Legislative Assembly, Ramnagar R.S Pathania, District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar, SSP, Udhampur Rayees Bhat, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Krishan Lal, Assistant Commissioner Development, Angrez Singh, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. K.C Dogra, Executive Engineers, PWD, PHE,PMGSY, REW, District Social Welfare Officer, Vipan Bhagat, Chief Executive Officer, Santosh Kotwal and other district and sectoral officers of different department were present on the occasion.
