Health & family Welfare Minister Vipin Singh Parmar has directed all the Doctors in the State to prescribe only generic medicines while treating patients in hospital and dispensaries. Prescribing costly medicines amidst availability of generic medicines was injustice to the poor patient and it also thwarted the process of better health services in the State.He was reviewing health services in the State with Chief Medical Officers, Block Medical Officers here at Shimla today. He said along with availability of medicines in the hospital it was also necessary that quality of medicines was also checked at regular intervals.He said cleanliness should be maintained in all the hospital, the toilets and hygienic conditions of kitchens should be ensured at all cost. He said that cleanliness should be maintained at every corner in the health institutions.The Minister also asked Chief Medical Officers to be in regular communication with PWD authorities for timely construction of health institutions in their respective districts.
