Commandant General Home Guard-Civil Defence/SDRF Jammu, Dilbagh Singh, along with DIG HG-CD/SDRF Jammu, Vikas Gupta, today visited Civil Defence Kathua and interacted with VHG trainees who are undergoing 45 day basic training course.Singh interacted with the trainees and exhorted upon them to optimally utilize the knowledge and skills they are learning in this programme and extend prompt services to the people at the time of any disaster/natural calamity. He also enquired about the special talent of the trainees and listened to their problems also.Later, Singh met with prominent CD wardens and volunteers of the district who were imparted 5 day CD basic training which concluded here today. He asked them to create awareness among the people about the Civil Defence activities.CD wardens, 33 CD Volunteers including Rattan Chand Retired SP, Anchal Dass Retired Deputy SP, S.Joginder Singh, Retired Principal and others attended the valedictory function.Later, Dilbagh Singh and Vikas Gupta visited Samba and held an interactive meeting with Civil Defence Wardens and Volunteers of the district.The DGP emphasized on the need of intensifying the activities of Civil Defence volunteers towards rescue/disaster management.
