On his visit to Assam on Wednesday, the Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga, met his counterpart in the state Chander Mohan Patowary, who also holds the charge of Transport and Parliamentary Affairs ministries.Representing states with peculiar geographical and economic situations in the country, the two Ministers had a detailed discussion on the pattern and issues of industrial growth in Jammu & Kashmir and Assam.Mohan Patowary, while speaking on the occasion, said Assam has seen significant progress in the industries sector over the years, being currently involved in materializing Ease of Doing Business so that more industrial houses are attracted to the State.Ganga, on the other hand, presented the Industrial Policy of J&K to his Assam counterpart, informing him of key developments and steps taken by the State government to boost industrial development in the State. He also apprised him of working of different departments and PSUs under the Ministry of Industries and Commerce in J&K.The J&K Minister for Industries & Commerce also called for holding joint exhibitions of handicrafts and handlooms at different places in the two states.The Ministers also discussed means to explore possibilities of attracting investments to their respective states. On the occasion, Ganga invited Mohan Patowary to visit Jammu & Kashmir.
