Principal Secretary Agriculture Production Department (APD), Sandeep Kumar Nayak today chaired a meeting of Inter Departmental Working Group of ‘Sub Mission on Agriculture Extensions' (SMAE) to review the implementation of the State Extension Work Plan for 2016-17.
The meeting also approved the State Extension Work Plan (SEWP) for the year 2017-18.While appreciating the presentation detailing the convergence schedule, the Nayak who is also Chairman of Inter Departmental Working Group (IDWG) impressed upon the HoDs of Agriculture and allied sectors to its strict adherence and also instructed to take the timely review of each meeting as enlisted in the schedule.He impressed upon implementing agencies of allied sectors at district level to furnish their Monthly Progress Report (MPRs) to the respective Chief Agriculture Officers.He added that the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) as envisaged by Centre is mandatorily to be followed in the implementation of the scheme as detailed in the meeting.Nodal Officer highlighted the physical and financial progress report of the scheme for the year 2016-17 and briefed the Chairman that Govt of India share of Rs. 731.11 lakh has been utilized as against the availability of Rs. 874.65 lakh released by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmer Welfare, Govt of India to the state under the scheme.
The Nodal Officer of the scheme presented the State Extension Work Plan for the year 2017-18. It was given out that the plan has been formulated on the tentative financial ceiling of Rs. 1571.72 lakh conveyed by GoI which includes an amount of Rs 157.17 lakh as State share, covering 22 districts of the State and as per the guidelines of the scheme. This was later on approved by the Principal Secretary APD.Meanwhile, in another meeting chaired by Sandeep Kumar Nayak, he reviewed the Pardhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) at the Agricultural Complex Lal Mandi.During the meeting chairperson advised to Geo-Tag all the assets created during 2016-17 under Provincial Disaster Management Centre (PDMC) component of PMKSY before the State Level Sanctioning Committee (SLSC) to be convened for approval of the AAP 2017-18. He asked the implementing departments to provide the detail of assets created under PDMC component of PMKSY for Geo-Tagging .The meeting was further informed that Annual Action Plan under “Per Drop More Crop” (PDMC) component of PMKSY for the FY 2017-18 with financial ceiling of Rs 12 Crore as Central Share and Rs 1.33 Crore as Matching State Share was approved by the chairperson for implementation.Among the officer who attended the meetings were Director Agriculture Kashmir Altaf Aijaz Andrabi, Director Agriculture Jammu H K Razdan (Nodal Officer for ATMA and PMKSY), Director Extension SKUAST-K/Jammu, Director Law Enforcement, Director Animal Husbandry Jammu/Kashmir, Director Command Area Development Kashmir, Director Fisheries, Director sericulture officers from forest department and allied sectors and engineers from Irrigation and Flood Control Kashmir Division.
