Blood donation camp organized

A blood donation camp was organized by Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation in collaboration with District Red Cross Society and Health department at District Hospital, Rajouri in which 70 volunteers including 25 women from Sunderbani, Nowshera, Poonch and other areas donated blood here today.MLA Rajouri, Ch. Qamar Hussain and District Development Commissioner, Rajouri Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary attended the camp and applauded the efforts of the Foundation for organizing blood donation camps.The DDC also congratulated volunteer donors and assured full cooperation to the Foundation  in such endeavors.Informing that the district administration will organise a mega blood donation camp after Ramadan, the DDC asked Health department to organise mass awareness programmes on blood donation, especially in far flung areas of the district.

The DDC also appreciated youth for coming up in large numbers for donating blood after recent ceasefire violation that left many injured in Nowshera. He also assured to take up proposal for blood banks at Koteranka, Darhal and Thanamandi.“Keeping in view incidents of ceasefire violations and resultant civilian injuries in Nowshera sector, part of today's collection will be sent to Blood Storage Units at Nowshera and Sunderbani," Superintendent District Hospital Dr. Mehmood Bajjar said.Zonal Incharge Sant Nirankari Mandal J&K, B P Singh and Convenor Sant Nirankari Mandal Rajouri-Poonch, Anil Kapoor also attended the camp.
