Competent Foundation’s Blood Donation Camp

As many as 341 units of blood were collected in the 17th blood donation camp organised by Competent Foundation here today in association with DAV College. The Governor of Punjab & Administrator of UT, Chandigarh Sh. V. P. Singh Badnore,  was the Chief Guest, who stressed on the importance of blood donation as a self-less service to save lives.  Advisor to Administrator Sh. ParimalRai also attended the function as Guest of Honour.In addition 146 people pledged to donate their eyes  and other organs.Talking about the camp, Sanjay Tandon said, “Understanding the Corporate Social Responsibility, Competent Group which runs Call Centre, Stock Brokerage, Commodity Brokerage, Insurance Brokerage, Audits and Financial Consultancies, had formed a Charitable Society namely “COMPETENT FOUNDATION” in October 2006. This foundation is known for undertaking various projects to help the under privileged in the society by organizing weekly langars, blood donation camps, free education, circulating daily good thoughts and weekly stories” and providing free medical help to poor patients in PGI and Sector 32 Medical College and hospital Chandigarh.DrJagatram Director PGI Chandigarh thanked Competent Group for this selfless service to the society. Each donor was presented with a Certificate from PGI. Till date the Foundation had given  4601units of blood to PGI and GMCH, Chandigarh, through 16 donation camps.Hindi version of book namely “Sunrays for Tuesday” containing 52 inspirational stories, written by Priya& Sanjay Tandon, was also released by the Chief Guest.
