Eight persons, including Fareeda Behanji of Jammu Kashmir Mass Movement (JKMM), were arrested by police during a protest demonstration here. They were demanding release of Kashmiri prisoners and whereabouts of missing persons.The protest was organized by Jammu Kashmir Mass Movement. Holding banners and placards, the protesters appeared in Abi Guzar  here and started shouting anti-India and pro-freedom slogans. They tried to march towards Lal Chowk, but the police dispersed them and took around eight of them into custody.“New Delhi and the state government is using judiciary as a weapon against the freedom struggle. Our youth are being picked up for the fault of their none while thousands missing Kashmir youth are still untraced,” Farida Behanji said before her arrest. She appealed people to boycott the upcoming elections completely. “Our children were maimed, killed and blinded by India. We should keep these sacrifices in mind and stay away from poll process,” she said.Besides, Fareedha Behanji, those who were arrested included JKMM Chairman Molvi Bashir Ahmed, Firdousa Akhtar, Mehmooda Baji, Afroza Akhtar and Zahida Akhtar.
