Director General of Police (DGP), Dr. S. P. Vaid has called for long term planning in infrastructure development, keeping in view the requirements as per the weather condition of a particular area. He said that holistic plan has to be envisaged for Police Housing and other related requirements of the organization.Dr. Vaid was presiding over the 38th Board of Directors Meeting (BoDs) of JK Police Housing Corporation (PHC) held at its Headquarters here today. He said that in the recent years a huge building infrastructure has been raised at all  districts of the State and many construction works are yet to executed to meet the future requirements of JKP. In view of the increasing manpower more living facilities are required at different places which are being undertaken during the current year to enhance facilities for the cops.DGP disclosed that the Corporation has done commendable job by executing mega construction programme in the State and the Corporation has multiple responsibilities to ensure time bound constructions with quality material in order to provide better facilities for the cops. 

He asked the officers and engineers to keep in mind the weather conditions of a particular area while drawing the building plans. He said that the State, having different topography and climate, different designs are required in order to face extreme weather conditions.The meeting discussed the execution of new works assigned to the Corporation under restoration of infrastructure damaged due to 2014 floods. It was informed that 68 works would be executed by the Corporation in the coming days and with the completion of these works JKP would have better living and working facilities for the personnel. Meeting also approved 18th and 19th Annual General Meetings, besides enhancement in the monthly remuneration of consolidated staff. Budget for the year  (2017-18) was discussed in threadbare and later approved.Earlier, MD PHC, Mr. Arun Kumar briefed the meeting about different constructions executed during the year 2016-17. Through power point presentation he gave a detailed resume of the agenda points which were put forth for discussions in the meeting.Among others, the meeting was attended by ADGP (Headquarter), VK Singh, IGP Jammu Zone, Dr. SD Singh, Director Budget, Imtiyaz Ahmed Wani, Addl. Secretary PWD, Mohammad Farooq, FA/CAO (PHC), Fayaz Ahmed and  ADO (PHC), Manohar Sharma.
