Minister of Finance, Culture, Labour and Employment, Dr Haseeb Drabu today said the Government will explore possibilities to give priority to the power sector under the 14th Finance Commission award.The Minister was responding to the supplementaries raised by legislators Ravindar Raina and M Y Tarigami , who sought special focus on power sector under 14th FC. The main question was raised by MLA Mohammad Abbas Wani seeking details of guidelines for the utilization of funds under 14th Finance Commission.Mr Drabu said that under 14th Finance Commission funds have been provided under different heads -Post Devolution Revenue Deficit, Disaster Management, Local Body grants and share in central taxes.The members also demanded for taking up the works under 14th FC after due consultation with the concerned MLAs.No proposal to construct stadium in Mendhar: Sunil SharmaMinister of State for Youth Services & Sports, Sunil Kumar Sharma today informed the House that presently there was no proposal to construct an Indoor/Outdoor Stadium in Mendhar Constituency under Khelo India.The Minister was replying to a Question by Javaid Ahmed Rana.Mr. Sat Pal Sharma and G.M. Saroori asked the supplementary questions and urged for strengthening the sports infrastructure in the existing stadiums and considering possibilities for developing such facilities in the uncovered areas to give fillip to the sports activities in the State.
