Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology, Choudhary Lal Singh today said that producing literature in native languages serves a great purpose of bringing society together in a muti-cultural and muti-lingual nation.Speaking on the book release function organized by Nami Dogri Sanstha, Jammu at KL Sehgal Hall here today, the Minister said it is another addition to the rich literature of Dogri. Mr Singh termed the book an arguably analytical reference book on the Dogri culture and community of Jammu and Kashmir.Speaking on the occasion, Mr Singh described the book as a useful addition to the treasure of Dogri literature. Expressing deep appreciation for the work by the author, Mr Singh laid emphasis on undertaking such initiatives in the native languages.“Work of this kind done by the author is required to be undertaken as it is through such endeavors that people come to know of the rich ethnic diversity of our State,” Mr Singh said.Choudhary Lal Singh, who was the chief guest on the occasion hailed the writer for his efforts. He also appreciated the Nami Dogri Sanstha, Jammu for their efforts for promotion of Dogri language and culture. “It is my pleasure to attend this function and I must say you all have a great contribution for the promotion of Dogri and its culture,” Mr Singh said.
The book titled ‘Cheten Di Bushkadi’ has been authored by noted Dogri writer, Shambu Ram Pyasa.The function was attended by former MLA Bishnah; Ashwani Sharma, special invitee on the occasion was, Om Vidyarthi, IFS and Sahitya academy awardee, Mohan Singh and Sahitya Academy Awardee, N D Jamwal.Sahitya Academy awardee, Om Goswami presided over the function. The speakers on the occasion appreciated the work done by Nami Dogri Santha Jammu. Writers, academicians, journalists, Dogri lovers also attended the function.On the occasion, two papers on the book were presented. The papers were read by Dr Sunita Bhadwal and Dr Sushma Rani, which were appreciated during the programme.Earlier former MLA, Mr Ashwani also congratulated Pyasa for his third Dogri book. He appealed people to do some more in the field of Dogri. “Dogri classes should be started in every school even in private schools also,” he opined.President Duggar Manch, Mohan Singh recalled his days with the author. He said the author played a great role in Nukad Natak 'Doo Bawe' Apna Aap Pachan and Asli Baaras also he used to read poem in Dogri.
