Dy CM holds public grievances redressal camp in Akhnoor

Directs officers to take speedy action on the issues raised by people

In order to redress the grievances of general public at their door steps, the Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Kumar Singh convened a public grievances redressal camp at Akhnoor.Vice Chairman, J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans Daljeet Singh Chib, MLA Akhnoor Rajiv Sharma, MLA Chamb Dr Krishan Lal, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Simrandeep Singh, SSP Jammu Dr Sunil Gupta were present in the camp.People in large number hailing from Akhnoor, Jourian, Khour and nearby villages participated in the camp and apprised the Deputy Chief Minister of their problems and grievances.People present on the occasion raised several issues related to PDD, PHE Irrigation, Flood & Control, PWD(R&B), FCS&CA, Agriculture, Revenue and allied departments. On spot queries were also responded by the senior officers of the department present in the camp.Dr Singh assured the public of early redressal of their issues and directed the officers to take speedy action on the same. He also addressed many of the grievances put forth by the public on the spot while directing the officers for redressal of remaining issues at the earliest.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Singh said that objective behind conducting such camps is to provide a single platform to the public for raising their issues, demands so that these will be responded on the spot by the concerned officers. He assured the people of follow up of all the issues raised in the camp.

Giving relief to the public from moving from one office to other to get Income certificate, disability certificate, Deputy CM directed DDC Jammu to organize special camps so that on spot certificates would be provided to the needy people.Responding to the issue related to correction in ration cards, Dr Singh directed the DC to make provision of getting the correction done in Akhnoor inspite of coming to Jammu for the same.Speaking on the issue of uninterrupted power supply and upgradation of infrastructure, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the government has decided to provide Rs 1 crore to each constituency so that the power infrastructure would be upgraded. He said that for urban areas, RAPDRP and for rural, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) will ensure cent percent electrification.He also appealed people to make judicious use of electricity and use LED bulbs provided by the government under UJWALA scheme which will help them in saving power and money too.Dr Singh said the government has initiated various vital projects worth crores to facilitate people with amenities like roads, bridges, schools and drinking water schemes. He also sought cooperation of the people in the ongoing developmental process.

The Deputy Chief Minister while addressing the people said that both centre and state government have launched various welfare schemes and they should avail maximum benefits of the same. He asked the officers to make people aware of the schemes so that the objective behind launching them would be fulfilled.Vice Chairman, J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kisans Daljeet Singh Chib said that the government is committed for the overall development of the state and have already taken various measures in this regard. He said that government is laying focus on Agriculture sector and to uplift the farmers of the state.He said that Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna will be launched in the state soon giving relief to the farmers for crop damage and various food grain mandis have been established from where government is procuring crop directly from the farmers. For the first time, the government has decided to procure maize from the farmers in order to promote local crop cultivation.Earlier, the MLAs of Akhnoor and Chamb also raised various issues and demands pertaining to the development of their areas. Dr Singh after giving patient hearing to them assured them of their early redressal.Among others, SDM Akhnoor Sunaina Sharma, concerned senior officers, prominent citizens and large number of people were present in the camp.
