Smt. Urmila Singh, Governor inaugurated the week-long International Kullu Dussehra Festival by performing pooja and lighting the lamp at Kala Kendra, today evening. Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Singh said that Kullu Dussehra was distinct from the Dussehra festival celebrated all over the county as this festival commences when Dussehra festivities concludes in the rest part of the country. She said that the festival, which was symbol of victory of good over evil, had maintained its glory with the changing times and added that about hundreds of local deities converge at Kullu to pay obeisance to Lord Raghu Nath Ji, which make this festival very special. The Governor stressed upon the need to preserve rich cultural heritage of the State. She said that rich and unique culture of State was reflected through various National and International level fairs and festivals celebrated in the State. She also inaugurated the exhibitions and visited the stalls put up by various Government Departments and Private Organizations. Dr. Amandeep Garg, Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman, Kullu Dussehra Festival Committee welcomed the Governor.Earlier, the Governor also performed Pooja at Raghu Nath Ji Camp at Dhalpur ground.
