Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir (JeI) Wednesday said that Government of India has established rule of lawlessness in the valley and provided free license to the forces to use force at their will to curb the ongoing mass movement which has now entered 47th day.In a statement issued to KNS, Advocate Zahid Ali Spokesperson, JeI the forces have employed all barbaric and inhuman methods to break the will of the people who are demanding their birth right of self-determination and fulfillment of the pledges made to them through the United Nations. One more innocent youth Aamir Mir S/o Ghulam Ahmad Mir R/o Ratnipora, Pulwama succumbed to bullet injuries and several others got injured when they were protesting the atrocities near Prichu, Pulwama. So far sixty nine innocent protestors have been killed and thousands injured out of which a good number have lost their eye sight and limbs and other vital body parts.

Instead of listening to the just voice of Kashmiris, the Indian rulers are issuing threatening statements against them and warning them of dire consequences in case they do not give up their genuine demands. So far hundreds of innocecent persons have been detained including some prominent personalities and activists of Jama’at-e-Islami. The district president of Jama’at district Shopian Shahzada Aurangzeb along with tehsil president Mohammad Sikander were apprehended by police from district office Shopian on Tuesday without any legal or moral justification and old aged parents of a prominent scholar of Jama’at Mufti Mujahid Shabir of Tral were critically injured after being fired from point blank range with the intention to kill them only to terrorize Jama’at. The stand of Jama’at vis-à-vis the Kashmir issue is quite clear and unambiguous. Jama’at wants this issue to be settled permanently either by implementing the UN resolutions or by holding tripartite negotiations between India, Pakistan and the real representatives of the people of whole region of Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with the real aspirations of the concerned people who are the basic party to the dispute.

It is the legal and moral duty of government of India to prepare a congenial atmosphere wherein this long-pending human issue can be resolved once for all which is in the best interests of the people of whole South-Asia. The use of brutal force will do nothing but add fuel to the fire.

The deployment of BSF and army can suppress the peaceful people for the time being but can never kill their aspirations and conscience by use of oppressive and coercive methods. The government of India has applied so many tactics to suppress the genuine voice of Kashmiris in the past but always failed.Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir (JeI) while condemning the inhumane atrocities committed by Indian forces upon the common masses and killing of another boy Aamir Mir at Pulwama, appeals the international and Indian human rights institutions to play their professional role sincerely and stop Indian establishment from committing atrocities upon the people.Jama’at expressed its deep sympathy with all the bereaved families of the martyred youth and wishes a speedy recovery of the injured.
