The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Singh Badal today reiterated that the SAD-BJP government is fully committed to the holistic development of Punjab which is an article of faith with it.On the occasion of inaugurating 2 Sewa Kendars here at a cost of Rs. 48.76 lakh , the Deputy Chief Minister said the Punjab has witnessed the era of development and progress on all fronts only S. Parkash Singh Badal at the helm as Chief Minister who has lead the state like a true visionary.Coming to the developmental works undertaken by the SAD-BJP government during previous 9 years, the Deputy Chief Minister said the state has gone up on the index of progress only at the time of SAD-BJP government under the leadership of S. Parkash Singh Badal.Elaborating more on the developmental front, he said the cities and the grain markets (mandis) across the state would be transformed by providing them sewerage and water supply facilities at a cost of Rs. 5500 crore out of which Rs. 300 crore would be spent in Pathankot alone.
Earlier, the Deputy CM inaugurated 2 Sewa Kendars, Government College building, bridge on the Nalwa canal and an auditorium in the city and said today is a red letter day in the history of Punjab when urban Sewa Kendars have become operational. He also announced that within one month Sewa Kendars would start functioning in 1758 villages across the state.He also divulged that the services of these Sewa Kendars would be provided to the public through online mode and also that with the beginning of this novel administrative initiative, people would be spared the ordeal of making numerous rounds of government offices.Mr Badal also said he would conduct sangat darshan in Pathankot next month and disburse grants for developmental purposes as per will of the people. Among others present on the occasion included Deputy Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Dinesh Kumar, CPS Semma Kumari, MLA Ashwani Sharma, former ministers Sucha Singh Langah and Master Mohan Lal and DC Amit Kumar.
