Demanding regularization of their services, scores of need and casual based workers of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department in  Kashmir on Saturday staged a protest to press for their demands. The workers who assembled here in Press Enclave said that, “many of us have been working as need based workers for past more than a decade, but despite assurances by successive state governments no step has been taken to regularise our services," said the protestors.Jammu Kashmir Employees and Working Association president, Mir Tariq Pampori told CNS that the workers have been raising the demand for their regularization for the past several months but the authorities did not pay heed. “We have decided to erect tents outside the Gupkar based Chief Minister’s residence on the day of Eid-ul-Fitar if the government did not fulfill their demands,” he said. They accused the PDP of not keeping their pre-poll promise to redress the grievances of the need based PHE workers.  (CNS)
