Minister for Education, Naeem Akhthar today informed that the development of pilgrim circuit and allied facilities at Purmandal is one of the components proposed for funding under Prime Minister’s Special Package through an integrated circuit for development of Surinsar-Mansar-Uttarbani.The Minister was replying to a question of Ajatshatru Singh on behalf of Minister for Culture in the House today.The Minister informed that Construction of Dormitory, public conveniences, grill fencing and viewing deck at Utterbehini and construction of retaining wall at ancient Dati Satyawati Temple, Purmandal has been undertaken and completed by the Directorate of Tourism, Jammu.The Minister further informed that Surinsar-Mansar Development Authority has undertaken and completed the renovation of Saria building at Utterbehini, Construction of Park and Bus Stand near Ram Mandir Utterbehini, development of park near Shiv temple Purmandal along with public conveniences, Tile path inside the complex of Shiv Temple, Bathing Ghats for ladies at Shiv Temple, Construction of bathing Ghats at various locations at Mansar, Development of Kabir Ghats at Utterbehini, Construction of Shelter Shed at Purmandal, Protection bandhs/laying of crates on the sides of Devika at Purmandal.The Minister, while replying to a supplementary said that the Government has already initiated steps to develop Jammu as a major tourist destination of the country.Saif-ud-Din Bhat and Ramesh Arora raised supplementaries to the main question.
