Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga convened meetings at the shrines of Baba Sidh Goriya and Baba Chamliyal to review the arrangements made for the annual mela  held at  these shrines.Mela Baba Sidh Goriya at village Swankha  will be held on June 19th while mela at Baba Chamliyal shrine situated near international border at Ramgarh sector will be held on June 23rd.The Minister while directing the functionaries of R&B  to ensure the blacktopping of all major roads connecting the shrines well before commencing of these famous melas said that repair and improvement works should also be done for the convenience of the devotees visiting both the shrines. PHE Department was asked to ensure uninterrupted water supply with provision for additional water tankers. Ganga also instructed PDD to ensure proper lighting arrangements in addition to un-interrupted power supply at the venue throughout the mela days. It was informed that the generator back up will be provided by the BSF authorities at Baba Chamliyal shrine.

Stressing on maintaining sanitation during Mela at both the shrines, Ganga said that adequate number of dustbins should be installed at the venues keeping in view the huge rush of devotees visiting the shrines during this annual event. He also passed instructions to the Legal Metrology and CA&PD departments to keep a check on the quality, hygiene and rates of the eatables being sold by the vendors there. Health Department was directed to ensure availability of two ambulances besides sufficient provision for medicare facilities and medical staff at both the venues.Ganga asked different departments to establish stalls of their respective departments to aware the visiting devotees regarding the schemes and welfare programmes. Tourism department was asked to ensure proper publicity of the event by installing banners and hoardings at prominent places.It was informed that the Control Room has been set up at both the shrines which will be kept functional round the clock for the convenience of the devotees while the Mela Officer will ensure coordination among the line departments to extend all necessary facilities to the devotees.

The Minister stressed on synergy among the concerned departments   and asked them to ensure that the requisite arrangements are put in place on time for smooth conduct of the mela.Ganga also reviewed the security arrangements and preparedness related to Fire and Emergency Services, traffic regulation etc.Locals also raised some issues and demands pertaining to the development of both the shrines. The Minister assured that adequate measures will be taken to redress their grievances on priority.Among others District Development Commissioner Samba Sheetal Nanda, SSP Samba Joginder Singh, ADC Pawan Sharma and ACD Tilak Raj Thapa also attended the meeting.
