Anupam Kher reaches Srinagar to visit NIT students

While the authorities claim calm in National Institute of Technology in Srinagar, a bollywood actor turned politician Sunday tried to trigger another controversy.Anupam Kher, a BJP leader who reached Srinagar to meet NIT students launched a tirade over NIT issue in a series of tweets.According to his tweets, as soon as he reached to Srinagar Airport, he was stopped not allowed to proceed towards to NIT Srinagar.On twitter, Kher claimed that Jammu and Kashmir Police has out him under detention at Srinagar Airport. “Landed in Srinagar. 'HOME' away from home. Will go to #NITSrinagar & meet the students & give them a warm hug & a special gift. I have been told by J&K police that I cannot enter Srinagar city at all. I have asked them to show me the orders. Still at the airport,” Anupam Kher in a tweet said.

He in a tweet said, “Asked J&K Police if I can visit my ancestral home or Kheer Bhawani temple. Even that is not allowed. Basically it is #AirportArrest.”Kher continue to remain under detention at Srinagar Airport as JK Police is yet to show the orders of stopping him from entering in Srinagar City, “Waiting for official orders to be shown to me. #Kashmir #NITSrinagar,” he in a tweet said.Asking NIT students to show courage victory with your exam results, he said, “Dear #NITSrinagar students: Your courage has been Loud & Clear. Now show victory with your exam results. I send you my love from d airport.”Kher also told NIT students that the country loves them and wishes them a good luck for their future, “Dear#NITSrinagar Students: Country loves & Salutes ur Nationalism & Courage. Keep it up. Work Hard & Good luck for your exams. #Blessings,” he said.

Meanwhile, NIT students thanked Anupoam Kher for reaching to Srinagar toi meet them, NIT students in a tweet said, “#NITSrinagar is grateful to u @anupampkher ji & @ashokepandit ji, unfortunate that u could not reach us but ur gesture is enough.”Kher waited for long time at Srinagar Airport and finally decided to return back.After reaching to Delhi, Kher took to twitter and wrote, “As I return from Srinagar airport, my heart is heavy but i have hope that things will change & become better. I remain an #EternalOptimist.”He also said, “My view of Kashmir was clouded today. But i am sure these clouds will clear one day. There'll b sunlight.:)#Optimism.” (KNS)
