District Development Commissioner Kathua Ramesh Kumar today convened a meeting to review the progress of ongoing projects under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) during 2014-15 and works taken up during 2015-16.During the meeting DDC reviewed the progress of ongoing development works taken under BADP during the year 2014-15 and emphasized for timely completion of development works with adherence of BADP guidelines and proper utilization of funds.DDC also impressed upon the officers to timely submit the utilization certificates of various works taken under BADP.During the meeting DC Kathua exhorted upon the need of providing skill development training to the youth of border area in cutting/tailoring, driving etc for mitigating the unemployment problem.
DDC Kathua also reviewed the department wise progress of various works taken under BADP. In the meeting DSWO Kathua informed that in the year 2014-15 social welfare department started 2 centers for imparting training in cutting/tailoring in border areas and in the year 2015-16 the department has started 3 more centers to take up skill development activities at village Sherpur , Mukandpur and Pandori.While reviewing the progress,DDC Kathua directed XEN PDD to submit a detailed proposal for augmentation of transformers in border areas.Block wise annual action plan of BADP 2015-16 for skill development programmes was also reviewed by DDC Kathua and instructions were given to all the officers to submit the list of skill development programme beneficiaries to JKEDI ,KVIB and DIC for providing them employment opportunities and financial aid.CPO Kathua, ACD , RTO , SE Hydraulics , PO DRDA , XEN PWD , XEN PDD , Dy. Dir. Employment , DSWO , BDOs of all blocks, Nodal Officer JKEDI Kathua , Distt. Youth Co-ordinator NYK and other officers were present in the meeting.
