The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone today visited various areas of Srinagar and took stock of developmental works. He was accompanied by SDM Khanyar, Joint Director Planning, officials of SMC, Housing Board and R&B.The Deputy Commissioner took stock of upgradation work on Radpora and Waris Khan Sports stadiums. He directed the concerned officials to expedite the work, so that work is completed on time.
Dr. Lone also visited under construction Government Psychiatric Hospital at Badamwari being constructed at a cost of Rs. 15.71 crore. He was told that so far Rs. 7 crore has been spent on the construction of the hospital.The Deputy Commissioner also took stock of construction of community hall General Bagh and Community Hall Hazratbal. The Deputy Commissioner was informed that Rs. 1.5 crore is being spent on the construction of community hall at Hazratbal and so far Rs. 25 lakh have been utilized. He directed the officials to complete the construction work on community hall at an earliest, so that people are benefitted.
The Deputy Commissioner took stock of power arrangements at Dargah Hazratbal. He directed the officers to ensure proper power facilities so that people don’t face any inconvenience. He directed for installation of LED lights.The Deputy Commissioner directed all the officials to ensure proper drainage system in stadiums, so that players don’t face any inconvenience.Earlier, Deputy Commissioner conducted a meeting with the officials of SMC, UEED, Youth Services and other concerned officers. He took stock of upgradation of Radpora and Gani Memorial sports stadiums. District Youth Services Officer was made nodal officer to monitor sports activities.The Deputy Commissioner said that Youth Services and Sports will provide necessary sports infrastructure within a month and all necessary arrangements will be put in place.
