The Minister for Industries & Commerce Chander Prakash Ganga has stressed on sensitizing the general public about the newly launched Ladli and Asra scheme and directed the concerned departments to work in synergy for generating mass awareness about the welfare programmes launched by the government.The Minister was speaking at a meeting convened to review the functioning of various departments at Samba.MLA Samba, Devinder Kumar Manyal was also present in the meeting.Ganga stressed on improving efficiency in the working of departments by capacity building and adopting best working practices.The Minister stressed on time bound implementation of ongoing projects and judicious use of funds. He asked the officers to ensure strict adherence to the codal formalities and exhorted that projects should be envisaged keeping in mind developmental needs of an area.The Minister directed the officials of Rural Development department to sensitize the common masses about the various welfare schemes so that they would be benefitted. He also asked them to prepare a comprehensive plan to include all the beneficiaries under the  Indira Awas Yojna (IAY). Ganga also sought the status report from the District Panchayat officer for identifying the ponds in the area so that they would be developed from tourist point of view and to identify the water bodies where check dams can be constructed.

While reviewing the functioning of Social welfare department, it was informed that the list of old age pension beneficiaries is being scrutinized to ensure that all the genuine beneficiaries are included and provided assistance .The Minister directed the officers to personally verify the list and to submit a monthly report in this regard . It was also asked to the department to develop a mechanism to make the age certification process easier for old age widows.

The Minister asked the officers to change the mindset and work culture to ensure transparency and accountability for weeding out corruption from the system .Concerned officers of CAPD department informed the Minister that 1700 additional ration cards have been issued to the consumers. While discussing the distribution of kerosene oil, it was informed that soon the mobile depots would be made functional. The Minister directed the officials to develop a mechanism to stop black marketing of kerosene oil and ensure its fair  distribution.Ganga directed the department to ensure the supply of sugar soon in view of ensuing Diwali festival.PDD department was directed to prepare a comprehensive plan for  rural electrification, scheme of providing pump sets in rural areas and to develop infrastructure to provide regular electricity supply to the consumers.Officers of PWD(R&B) department informed the Minister about the status of various works being executed by the department. 

Ganga directed the officials to have close check on the quality of works and ensure timely completion of the works.The Minister also directed the PHE department to work efficiently so that the consumers would get daily supply of drinking water especially in Kandi area.SDM Vijaypur and Ghagwal were directed to submit the requirement of staff so that the work in the offices would not suffer and also to monitor the working of staff closely for the maximum output.MLA Samba Devinder Kumar Manyal instructed the officers to visit the site before approving any work and also submit status report of works being initiated by the respective departments. He asked the officials to work with dedication and to meet the expectations of the public.Among others, the meeting was attended by ADC Samba Pawan Sharma, ACD Samba Tilak Raj Thapa, ACR Samba Sonu Pargal, SDM Vijaypur Rajinsh Gupta, SDM Ghagwal Charanjit Singh, XEN PDD Sanjiv Bhagat, XEN PWD(R&B) Dinesh Rampal, AEE PHE Bari Brahmana Surinder Kumar, BDO Bari Brahmana, BDO Vijapur, BDO Ramgarh, BDO Purmandal, BDO Nudd  and other concerned officers.
