In a significant order Justice B.S. Walia of Jammu and Kashmir High Court (Jammu Wing) lifted the stay on the selection of 772 posts of Lecturers and directed the official respondents to finalize the result of the selection. After hearing Senior Advocate M.K. Bhardwaj with Advocate Vasu Dubey and Advocate Rohan Nanda appearing for the petitioners and Advocate General Jehangir Iqbal Ganai with AAG Rakesh Khajuria appearing for Higher Education Department Justice B.S. Walia observed that there are 772 posts of Lecturers/Teaching Assistants which have been advertised and Senior Advocate M.K. Bhardwaj submitted that the challenge in the writ petitions is only qua appointment to the posts of Teaching Assistants, therefore, he has no objection if the State goes ahead with filling up the posts of Lecturers out of the selection made so far.

Justice B.S. Walia in view of the statement made by the counsel for the parties modified order dated July, 28, 2015 whereby the State respondents had been restrained from finalizing the result of selection to the post of Lecturers. On apprehension expressed by Senior Advocate M.K. Bhardwaj appearing for the petitioner the Advocate General according to CNS stated that circular No.HE/Gen/Cir/2015 dated August, 31, 2015 providing for appointment of Guest Faculty against the post of Teaching Assistants would not be acted upon till the next date before the Bench.Looking into the urgency involved the Court directed the Registry to list this matter on September, 17, 2015 higher up in the cause list.
