BGB man wounded in Myanmar insurgent firing

A  member of the frontier troop of Bangladesh, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)  was wounded in a fire carried out allegedly by Myanmar insurgent group  Arakan Liberation Party at around 9:30 am local time, said  Major  General Aziz Ahmed, director general of the  frontier troop.The incident took place at Baramadak in Thanchi sub –district in Bandarban district following seizure of some 13 horses that were using to carry goods for the insurgent group, a news agency reported quoting local sources.The wounded Nayek Jakir Hossain of Barakadam BOP was rushed to Chittagong for better treatment.Sources said a gunfight took place between the insurgent group and the BGB as soon as the BGB camp was attack by the terrorist group of Myanmar.A contingent of Bangladesh Army from Alikadam cantonment and additional BGB troops were flown to the spot soon after having the information. Bangladesh- Myanmar frontier remained closed after the gunfights, television channels reported.
