Lone, Mir lay foundation of Rs 1.62 cr Receiving Station at Hanjura

Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura and Minister of State for Power, Industries and Commerce, Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Mir today laid foundation of 6.3 MVA Receiving Station (RS) at Hanjura, Chadoora in Chrar-e-Sharief constituency which will come up at a cost Rs 1.62 crore. On completion of the project a population of around 32000 souls of Hanjura and its adjacent areas including Nowhar, Dadompora, Zoohama, Kherigund, Shumnag, Nugam, Nowpora and Booewa will be benefitted.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said construction of receiving station was a long pending demand of the area. He directed the executing agencies to complete the project within stipulated time-frame so that the people of Hanjura and its adjacent areas will get benefit of it well in time.

Mr. Hanjura said a grid station would be also constructed in Chadoora soon. He said Government is committed to provide electricity to every habitation particularly far off and hilly areas.Listing the development works under execution in Chrar-e-Sharief constituency, the Minister said construction work on micro and macro projects is apace and on completion of these projects visible change will be seen on the ground. He said efforts are afoot to develop Chrar-e-Sharief constituency on modern lines.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Power, Ashraf Mir said the government is committed to provide basic amenities including uninterrupted power supply to the consumers. He said special focus is given to power sector, adding that the Government is committed to cover all uncovered habitations in phased manner. He said government is committed to redress the genuine grievances of the people.Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Altaf Ahmed Mir, Power Development Commissioner, Mr. Asgar, Chief Engineer PDD, Kashmir, Mr. Bashir Ahmed Khan and other senior officers of PDD were present on the occasion.
