By taking resignation of the BJP Ferozepur unit president Jagtar Singh Katora and Yuva Morcha president Jimmy Sandhu, State President of the party Kamal Sharma has proved that BJP is a party having high moral grounds and the party was committed against criminalization of politics. This was stated by Chief Parliamentary Secretary and Phagwara MLA Som Parkash, in a statement issued from the party headquarters in which he condemned the voices who are demanding resignation of the state BJP president in the case.Som Parkash said that such a prompt step taken by Sharma, in wake of just the names of Katora and Sandhu cropping up in some criminal case, shows his exemplary conduct, for which he should be appreciated.

“Moreover, BJP is a very big party and if in such a big family anybody commits a mistake, how can head of the family be termed responsible for this. What more can a party president do after asking the leaders named in the crime to step down. Awarding sentence to the persons involved in a crime is the job of the court & not of a state president,” said the CPS. Som Parkash challenged the opposition parties to name those leaders from their parties who set such high standards of morals by asking the leaders to resign before FIR was registered against them.“They wont be able to name any as it was for the first time that the BJP president has settled this trend. Other leaders should follow it rather than playing a politics of cheapness over the issue,” said the CPS.
