Ramesh Dhawala, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister said here today that State Government had invited tenders for procurement of 15000 quintal of ‘dal chana’ from open market and orders had been issued to concerned firm to supply the same. He said that this was necessitated as Central Government had stopped the subsidy on pulses which had resulted into shortage supply of ‘dal chana’. Dhawala said that State Government would also ensure supply of refined oil regularly from this month. He said that advance supply of levy sugar to snow bound areas had been made from general quota as supply from the Central Government was yet to be received despite repeated requests. The Minister directed the departmental officers to keep vigil over black marketing, hoarding and profiteering of food items and vegetables so as to control the price rise of essential commodities.
