The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Industries and Commerce and Power Development, Mohammad Ashraf Mir today conducted an extensive tour of Sonawar constituency.The Minister took stock of the availability of basic amenities to the people provided by government.During the visit various public deputations met the Minister and apprised him about problems confronting them. The Minister gave patient hearing and assured that genuine problems shall be solved on priority.During his visit to Sarband Water Body Reservation at Harwan, the Minister reviewed its construction progress. The Minister was informed that Rs.2.93 lakh have been spent on the project so far and the work shall be completed within the stipulated time.Later, the Minister also visited Pantha Chowk , Lasjan and Athwajan and took stock of the embankment strengthening works along Jhelum. He directed the concerned authorities to remove all types of encroachments on the embankments of the river.The Minister was accompanied by Chief Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control and other concerned officers.
