Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga, launched plantation drive by planting a sapling of Amla plant besides visiting Battal Ballian Industrial Estate here today.The plantation drive was organized by District Industries Centre Udhampur in which about 800 plants would be planted.“Everybody should plant at least one tree a month and treat it as his own child as sons may not become useful to you, but the trees you plant shall serve humanity for a long time to come”, the Minister asserted.Expressing concern over drastic change in the environment due to removal of tree cover, the Minister exhorted upon the people to engage in greening the environment with great gusto and sincerity as tree plantation is a harbinger of prosperity. “Plants eliminate the pollution and are beneficial for health, he added. He also asked people to pay attention for nurture, protection and growth of their planted trees.
Earlier, the Minster met members of Industrial Association at Battal Ballian who projected various problems of the Industrial Estate like inadequate power supply, improvement of dilapidated roads etc.The Minister assured them that all their issues would be looked into for an early redressal. The Minister stressed upon the industrialists to have insurance of all their employees under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. He said that it becomes their moral duty to safeguard the interests of working class in their industries as they are the one who make them an industrialist.Later, the Minister visited Tajoor, Manwal and inspected the Industrial Estate sites.
The Minister instructed the MD SICOP, R.L Tikoo, to submit revised proposal for establishment of industrial estate at Tajoor. He asked the concerned to submit DPR for making check dams under watershed programme at the industrial area, Tajoor. He asked the concerned departments to widen the existing Manwal to Tajour roads.While addressing the people at Devi Bani Temple, Manwal, he said that Government is committed to work for overall development and boosting economy of the state. He highlighted Ease of Doing Business and make in India programme. He asked the industries department and district administration to arrange more and more awareness camps at block level regarding different employment schemes.MLA, R.S Pathania, demanded early setting up of new industrial units at Tajoor, opening of ten tailoring and cutting centres at Ramnagar, promotion of Khadi, handloom and handicraft products of Latti and Ramnagar area.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana, MD SICOP, R.L Tikoo, GM DIC, Udhampur, Neelam Khajuria, Sarpanchs, Panchs and large number of people were present on the occasion.
