Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga on Saturday laid foundation stone for rural connectivity and drainage works at Jakh Panchayat and protection works at Sangwal Panchayat in his home constituency Vijaypur. He also took stock of ongoing developmental activities in the area.The Minister directed the officers to maintain quality parameters while ensuring expeditious execution of these developmental works so that durable assets are created. He said that accelerating developmental pace with emphasis on growth of unattended and inaccessible pockets, is the core mantra of coalition government and everyone must work hard to achieve this. He said that Government was determined to ensure that all areas of the State get equal opportunities of progress and development, adding that this calls for greater participation of people for tangible results.
"With only few months in office, the efforts and achievements of present government stand testimony to the fact that sincerity of purpose can prove instrumental in dispensing responsive and accountable governance", the Minister maintained.Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma was also present on the occasion.The Minister appealed the people to give time to the present dispensation for translating its agenda of progress and prosperity into reality.Listing the achievements of the government, he said innovative policies and programmes have been framed to put the state on the track of development and economic growth and people would soon realize a discernible change on all fronts.He said due to indifference and mis-governance of previous regime many areas lagged behind in the development. The Minister also addressed a public meeting at Sangwal where the people demanded construction of overhead tank in the area. In this connection, the Minister directed the concerned authorities to prepare DPR for the project.Later, the Minister also addressed a public meeting at Swankha. He reaffirmed the agenda of the coalition government to create durable assets in the State with special focus on core sector development.
