Deputy Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi today directed the officers of Fisheries Department to construct inspection Huts at Dawar, Sheikpora, Bagtore and Angoikote villages of Gurez Sub Division of Bandipora district. He also asked them to establish a Hatchery unit at Angoikote.Chairing a meeting with the officers of Fisheries Department, convened to discuss and review the measures taken for the improvement and development of Fisheries in the district, Mr. Gurezi said that an amount of Rs.6.35 crore has already been approved by the National Hydro Electric Power Corporation (NHPC) under Fisheries sector.

The Deputy Speaker directed the concerned to take up the matter with NHPC for release of remaining funds so that the construction work on proposed projects could be completed within the stipulated time.Mr. Gurezi also directed officers of the Fisheries Department to keep provision under State sector for field hatchery for current fiscal year.He was informed that on completion of NHPC project a brown trout reservoir would be established. He directed the concerned for preparing a comprehensive plan for the purpose.Earlier, the Director Fisheries briefed the meeting about the activities carried out by the department in district Bandipora.
