Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare Asiya Naqash today visited Bibi Halima Nursing College and Primary Health Centre, S R Gunj, Srinagar and reviewed the functioning of these health institutions.The Minister went around different wards at PHC, SR Gunj and interacted with patients and locals to get the feedback about the facilities being provided to the patients.In a meeting with the hospital administration, the Minister asked them to improve the health care system in the institution. She also visited the new block of the PHC which is under construction and directed the concerned executing agency to ensure proper ventilation in the building besides ensuring its timely completion.

At Bibi Halima College, the Minister interacted with students and Principal of the college and took stock of the fee structure and other activities of the institution.Later the Minister had a meeting at Banquet Hall with Director Health Services Kashmir, Director NRHM, Director ISM, Dy. Commissioner, Srinagar and other concerned officers in which a review of medical facilities being provided to the people in different health institutions of Srinagar district was undertaken.Earlier, the Minister at a separate function distributed cheques amounting to Rs. 1.95 lakh among 39 leper patients, suffering from Hepatitis-C out of Chief Ministers Relief fund. The cheques were distributed @ Rs 5000/- each beneficiary on the occasion of Eid festival.Speaking on the occasion Ms Asiya said that a medicinal project worth Rs 26 lacs has been sanctioned in favour of Hepatitis-C suffering patients which will be provided to them at a shortest possible time. She said government is committed to provide best health care facilities to the people of the State.
