District Development Commissioner, Baramulla, Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmad Shah inspected regional Water Supply Scheme, Rohama and took stock of the pace of work in Rohama Project. The District Development Commissioner, Baramulla inspected head works of the scheme at village Ladoo, about 35 Kms from Baramulla which is coming up at an estimated cost of Rs.13.90 crores and will provide potable drinking water to a population of about 45,000 of 13 villages of Tehsil Rohama.The District Development Commissioner was informed that an amount of Rs. 13 crores has been spent so far and potable drinking water is being provided to a population of 30,000 of 11 villages whereas 2 villages would be provided water shortly.The District Development Commissioner was further informed that all the components of the scheme viz, Filtration Plant, PST service reservoirs have been completed whereas laying of pipes is in progress. The District Development Commissioner directed engineers of PHE Department to complete the laying of pipes before Eid, so that potable water could be supplied to leftover villages of Rohama and Saripora.
Earlier, District Development Commissioner visited PHC Rohama and was briefed on the status of work on the building. The District Development Commissioner directed Chief Medical Officer Baramulla and Executive Engineer R&B department to complete the unfinished work within one month. On the occasion the residents of the village Rohama presented their problems with regard to road connectivity, Irrigation and various other issues of the village.The District Development Commissioner assured that their problems would be looked into and addressed without any delay.The District Development Commissioner was accompanied by Joint Director Planning A.G. Malik, Sub Divisional Magistrate Sopore Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo, Executive Engineers from PHE and R&B Departments.
