ADDC convenes District Level Review Committee meet

Additional District Development Commissioner, Jammu, Anuradha Gupta, chaired a meeting of District Level Review Committee/District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) to review the performance of banks under Annual Credit Plan 2014-15 besides taking stock of deposits, advances and CD ratio in Jammu district for the quarter ending March, 2015. Lead District Manager, SBI, Jammu, informed the meeting that the district has recorded deposits worth Rs.23829.11 crore, advances Rs.7735.20 crore besides registering a CD ratio of 32.46% as on 31-3-2015. Besides, the achievement of banks was Rs. 3701.12 crore against the annual target of Rs. 5650.07 crore under ACP 2014-15.

The ADDC exhorted upon all the banks to redouble their efforts so that the annual targets of FY 2015-16 are achieved in a time bound manner.SHe stressed on the need of holding Financial Literacy Camps on regular basis which can be utilized by the banks for creating awareness among the people about the newly launched schemes like PMSBY, PMJJBY and APY. SHe also instructed the banks to invite the representatives of agriculture department so that problems relating to low disbursement of KCCs could be addressed.The ADDC instructed the major banks to hold at least 3 education loan camps during the month of July, 2015, coinciding with the counseling session for admission to higher classes/professional courses. He asked the lead bank to draw a calendar for organizing product specific camps like housing loan melas, education fairs, MSME seminars etc so that awareness about such facilities is disseminated to specific target groups. Lead District Manager told the meeting that 219 financial literacy camps were organized by the rural branches of banks in Jammu district upto March 2015.The meeting had detailed review of all the government sponsored schemes with special focus on KCCs and PMEGP schemes. A detailed review was held on progress achieved under modified direct benefit transfer of LPG subsidy (PAHAL).The meeting was also attended by Assistant Director (Planning), AGM RBI,  State Project Manager, JKSRLM (Umeed), PO DRDA, GM DIC, representatives from banks and government departments.
