Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga today visited Baba Sidh Goria Mela at Swankha and paid obeisance at the shrine of Baba Sidh Goria.Baba Sidh Goria mela which runs for a week at Swankha is celebrated every year with great fervor.Minister appreciated the efforts of district administration for providing all facilities to the devotees and also appreciated R&B Department for improving the road connectivity in the area. He said better road condition has benefitted large number of devotees who came to pay obeisance at Baba Sidh Goria shrine at Swankha. At Swankha Mela, every year people come in large numbers to pay obeisance at the shrine. They used to take bath in holy ‘sarover’ which is believed to have healing and spiritual powers.Minister inaugurated the exhibition displayed by different Government departments like Agriculture, Social Welfare, Industries, Apiculture, Horticulture, Handloom, Tourism, Rural Development, Education and other departments who have installed their stalls at the venue.
Minister visited every stall and appreciated their efforts. He urged the local youth to take benefit of such schemes which would help them generate self employment. He said such exhibitions would help create awareness among youth regarding the job-intensive government schemes so that they could take maximum benefit out of the same.Minister said on the occasion that such events promote brotherhood and communal harmony among the people.DDC Samba Sheetal Nanda, SSP Joginder Singh, ADC, SDM Vijaypur, Tehsildar Ramgarh and other district officers were present on the Occasion.
