Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended the embargo on the import of a number of foreign goods for one more year."The government addressed a letter to me, asking me to extend the measures that we took against the actions of some of our partners from several countries. Today, in accordance with this letter, I signed a decree on the extension of certain economic measures in order to ensure the safety of the Russian Federation," TASS news agency quoted Putin as saying.On August 1, 2014, the EU imposed sanctions against the Russian Federation over the events in Ukraine and the Crimea and later extending them.According to TASS, Moscow was "forced to make a decision on counter sanctions”.
