MLA Udhampur, Balwant Singh Mankotia, inaugurated 5-day long book fair at Town Hall Udhampur here today. The fair is being organized by Progressive Youth Society, Ramnagar with the sponsoring agency National Book Trust, New Delhi.
The fair would remain open for all from 10 a.m to 5p.m upto October 17, 2013. While speaking on the occasion, the MLA complimented the organizers for holding such a wonderful exhibition in the town. He said that such book fairs have special significance to promote the book reading culture in the society because in these book fairs readers can get various kinds of books at concessional price under the same roof. The presentation includes special exhibition of books on various aspects of folk and tribal literature, religion and culture of the state. Among others, President of the society, Mr. Manoj Nishchint, renowned writer, Mr. Shiv Nirmohi and General Secretary Book Seller Association, Mr. Deepankar Gupta were present on the occasion.
