“Hindi has the history of having large pool of literature and poetry in whole of world. Hindi is bestowed with beautiful words like no other language has”. These  were the words of Dr. Rajender Singh Sangwan (Ph.D., F.N.A.A.S., F.N.A. Sc., Chief Executive Officer, Bio Processing Unit (BPU), Mohali. Use of Urdu and Sanskrit words in Hindi makes this language still more beautiful.  He further emphasized, that no Indian should hesitate in using Hindi.  Unfortunately, in our time children singh only English rhymes.    Chief guest lighted the lamp in the presence of Prof. K.K. Bhutani, Director and Registrar of the institute to inaugurate the function. This was followed by recital of Saraswati Vandana.

Hindi Pakhwada was observed with great enthusiasm and interest by all NIPERians between September 13th to 26th September 2013. A large number of Officers, staff and students participated in all competitions. Hindi Essay Writing, Translation of English words, Shudh lekahan, News Paper Reading, poem recitation and general knowledge quiz were organized during the fortnight.Prof.K.K. Bhutani, Director NIPER, while welcoming the guests emphasized on increasing the use of Hindi in official correspondence. He also emphasized that THAT DAY is still awaited when research papers would be published in Hindi. He further added that we should be proud of our Hindi in the manner Russians, Germans etc are about their languages. He congratulated NIPER family in taking initiatives to promote the use of Hindi.  He, further, said that mere knowledge of Hindi is not enough; we should be able to use it effectively in our day to day working. He urged the scientific community to initiate writing scientific works in Hindi to promote the Rajbhasha.

Hindi Officer Mrs.Savita Singh presented an impressive Annual progress report.-- “About 220 participants in 6 different competitions made the fortnight a grand success”, she said. She also highlighted the year- long activities held in the institute.On this occasion 6th edition of NIPER’s Hindi magazine, NIPER-DARPAN was also released.Certificates of appreciation for performing official work in Hindi were given to Mr. M.Jose, Mohd.Sahid Khan and Mr. K.Prasanna from Non Hindi speaking Regions. Ms. Ajit Pal Kaur and Mr. Geeta Prasad Nautiyal had done very well in Hindi typing and were given cash prizes and certificates of appreciation. The Chief guest Dr. Sangwan distributed trophies; certificate and cash prizes to winners of various competitions. Wing Cdr PJP Singh Waraich (Retd.), Registrar, NIPER proposed vote of thanks. He thanked all, who had directly or indirectly contributed in making this function a grand success.
