In view of prevailing adverse weather conditions and intermittent rainfall, Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today inspected Yatri Niwas, Chanderkote, to review arrangements for the safety, comfort and well-being of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims staying at the facility following the temporary suspension of the Yatra.

Accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shokat Hayat Mattoo and Tehsildar Ramban Deep Kumar, the Deputy Commissioner inspected facilities available at the Yatri Niwas, including accommodation, sanitation, drinking water, electricity, healthcare services, security arrangements and other essential amenities.

The Deputy Commissioner directed departments concerned to remain fully prepared to respond to any weather-related emergency, and instructed officers to ensure prompt redressal of issues faced by pilgrims and maintain uninterrupted essential services through seamless coordination and continuous monitoring.

The DC also interacted with pilgrims and sought their feedback on the arrangements. He assured them that the District Administration is committed to ensuring their safety, comfort and well-being, and that every possible measure is being taken to provide a secure stay until the Yatra resumes.

Mohammad Alyas Khan appealed to pilgrims to follow official weather advisories and cooperate with the administration and security agencies for their safety and the smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
