A day after holding a Gram Vikas Chaupal at Tilanesh Gram Panchayat in Nagaur's Degana subdivision, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma started his Saturday morning schedule with walking through the village lanes, interacting with residents and addressing their concerns on the spot.

During his visit, the Chief Minister met women engaged in weeding agricultural fields and spoke to them about farming practices and their daily lives. The women explained that they follow a tradition of collective farming, working together in each other's fields on a rotational basis to complete agricultural tasks quickly while strengthening community bonds.

Appreciating the spirit of cooperation, Sharma described the practice as an inspiring example of rural unity and social harmony. While touring the village, a woman informed the Chief Minister that wastewater regularly accumulated outside her house due to the absence of a proper drainage outlet.

After hearing the issue, Sharma immediately directed officials to resolve the problem and assured the resident that necessary action would be taken at the earliest. The woman thanked the Chief Minister for listening to her grievance and responding promptly.

The Chief Minister also interacted with an elderly resident who shared that he had lost both his wife and son and was living alone. Sharma instructed district officials to ensure that the elderly man received all eligible government assistance and faced no hardship.

During the interaction, the man became emotional and mentioned that he had not been allowed to enter the school premises during the previous night's programme. Responding warmly, the Chief Minister asked those present to meet him at the man's residence the following morning, assuring them that he would personally visit.

When the elderly villager affectionately told the Chief Minister, "We are merely your pigeons (messengers)," Sharma smiled and replied, "I have come to seek your blessings." His response drew appreciation from the villagers and created a warm atmosphere during the visit.

Following the Gram Vikas Chaupal on Friday evening, the Chief Minister stayed overnight in Tilanesh village, where he continued meeting residents late into the night, listening to public grievances and issuing directions to officials for their resolution. During his visit, Sharma also paid tribute to Grenadier Modaram Khatkar, who laid down his life during the 1965 Indo-Pak War.

"Following the Gram Vikas Chaupal (Village Development Meeting), I visited the residence of the brave son of the nation and immortal martyr, Grenadier Modaram Khatkar Ji, in Tilanesh Gram Panchayat of Nagaur district, where I paid my respectful homage to his cherished memory.

On this occasion, I had the privilege of sharing a meal with his family in a warm and cordial atmosphere, an experience marked by deep affection and mutual respect. "The supreme sacrifice made by the immortal martyr Grenadier Modaram Khatkar Ji while defending the motherland during the 1965 Indo-Pak War remains a timeless source of inspiration for us all.

His courage, valour, and unwavering devotion to the nation will continue to inspire generations to uphold the ideals of patriotism, duty, and selfless service. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to his family for the warmth, affection, and gracious hospitality they extended to me," he said in his social media post.

Earlier on Friday, Sharma joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi's virtual inauguration of Amrit Bharat railway stations from Gotan Railway Station in Nagaur. Addressing the gathering, he said Indian Railways had undergone historic transformation since 2014 and that the inauguration of eight Amrit Bharat stations in Rajasthan would strengthen connectivity, boost regional development, and contribute to the state's vision of becoming a developed Rajasthan.
