Dr. Manish Kumar Jindal has assumed charge as the new Principal of the Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT), Mohali, an institute functioning under the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Punjab. He was formally welcomed by the Registrar of the Institute, Mr. Ramandeep Singh, who presented him with a bouquet and facilitated the formal joining process.

Prior to assuming charge, Dr. Jindal paid a courtesy call on Jaspreet Singh, IAS, Director General, NIIFT and Director, Department of Industries & Commerce, Punjab, at the Directorate in Chandigarh.Congratulating Dr. Jindal on his new assignment, Mr. Jaspreet Singh, IAS, said that NIIFT Mohali is a premier institution of the Government of Punjab, renowned for its contributions to fashion education, design, innovation, and skill development. 

He expressed confidence that Dr. Jindal's rich academic and administrative experience, coupled with his visionary leadership, would take the institution to greater heights and further strengthen its reputation at the national and international levels.

Following the assumption of charge, an introductory meeting of the teaching and non-teaching faculty and staff was held, where Dr. Jindal was warmly welcomed by the NIIFT family. During the interaction, he emphasized that the success of any educational institution is built on teamwork, discipline, transparency, innovation, and a shared commitment to excellence. 

He called upon all faculty members and staff to work collectively towards providing quality, industry-oriented and career-focused education to students while taking the institution to new milestones.Subsequently, Dr. Jindal held a separate meeting with the non-teaching staff, where he highlighted the crucial role of the administrative workforce in ensuring the efficient functioning of the institution. 

Stressing the importance of transparency, accountability, timely execution of responsibilities and a service-oriented work culture, he urged the staff to actively contribute towards the overall development of the institute.After the meetings, Dr. Manish Kumar Jindal undertook a comprehensive visit of the NIIFT campus. 

The campus visit was facilitated by Dr. Poonam Aggarwal Thakur, Assistant Professor, who briefed him about the institute's academic and administrative departments, design studios, laboratories, library, smart classrooms, infrastructure and other facilities. 

During the visit, Dr. Jindal interacted with faculty members, Heads of Departments and staff to understand the institute's functioning, available resources and future plans, while emphasizing the need to further strengthen the academic and administrative environment for students.

On the occasion, Dr. Kanu Thind, PCS, Director, NIIFT, said, "I am delighted to welcome Dr. Manish Kumar Jindal as the new Principal of NIIFT, Mohali. His academic excellence and administrative experience will bring fresh energy and strategic direction to the institution. 

I am confident that under his leadership, NIIFT will further strengthen quality education, innovation, research, industry-academia collaboration and student-centric initiatives, while setting new benchmarks in fashion education and skill development."

Concluding the event, Registrar Mr. Ramandeep Singh said, "NIIFT Mohali is privileged to have an experienced, visionary and dynamic academician like Dr. Manish Kumar Jindal as its new Principal. We are confident that under his leadership, the institute will achieve new milestones in academic excellence, administrative efficiency, research, innovation and industry engagement. 

The entire NIIFT family looks forward to working with him in realizing the institute's vision and further enhancing its national and international standing."The NIIFT fraternity extended its best wishes to Dr. Manish Kumar Jindal for a successful tenure and expressed confidence that under his leadership, NIIFT Mohali will continue to achieve new milestones in fashion education, design, research, innovation and skill development.
