Shiromani Akali Dal Kharar Constituency In-charge Ravinder Singh Kheda on Monday announced that he will launch the “Bolega Kharar, Badlega Kharar” foot march from July 12. The march will commence from Ward No. 1 and cover all 27 wards of Kharar.
While interacting with the media, Kheda said that the objective of this foot march is to directly reach out to the people of Kharar and listen to their problems, suggestions and expectations on a priority basis. He said that this campaign will help the party prepare a concrete roadmap for the development of the area, based on the participation of the people rather than promises imposed from above.
Kheda said that he himself will walk on Landran-Kharar Road, Chhajjumajra Road and other broken roads of the city to show what the AAP government has actually done during its four-and-a-half years in power. He said that he will meet those women whose earrings were snatched by chain snatchers during the deteriorating law and order situation and will listen to their grievances firsthand.
He added that during the march, garbage heaps lying in front of temples, gurdwaras and mosques will be inspected, and the administration will be questioned regarding civic neglect around these religious places. Kheda said that MLA Anmol Gagan Mann claims to have brought development projects worth ₹1,000 crore to Kharar, and he will question the administration about where that money has actually gone.
Highlighting the growing menace of drugs, especially in areas such as Pump Wali Gali and Bangla Basti, Kheda alleged that under the watch of the AAP government, houses in these areas have become safe havens for drug traffickers. He said meetings would also be held with granthis and heads of gurdwaras, temples and mosques during the campaign.
He also raised the long-pending issue of the Kharar Bus Stand and questioned why the city has still not received a permanent bus stand despite years of AAP rule. Kheda further said that those who made heavy investments to help AAP win the 2022 elections would also be investigated to determine how much their personal wealth has increased since then.
He said that the development works carried out during the four-and-a-half-year tenure of AAP MLA Anmol Gagan Mann would also be examined and people would be asked to assess her performance themselves. The constituency in-charge appealed to all residents of the area, social organizations, youth, women and media representatives to participate in large numbers and make the march a success.
On this occasion, Sardar Dilbag Singh Mianpur (SC Wing President), Patwari Balwinder Singh (Urban President), Shamsher Singh Badali (Senior Leader), Man Singh Saini (Former MC), Bibi Jasvir Kaur, Sham Lal Majriya (BC Wing President), Aman Sharma, Harjinder Singh Balongi, Rajveer Singh Raji, Parvinder Singh Desumajra, Harbans Singh Sidhu, Garish Kumar, Malkit Singh Mall, Amarjit Singh, Ravinder Singh Ravi Madhedi, Balkar Singh Babbu, Amarjit Singh Minta, Pradeep Kumar Rura MC, Lakhwinder Singh, Malkit Singh, Jagjit Singh Lovely, Amandeep Singh Ammu Saini, Simran Singh Desumajra, Manmohan Singh Mavi, Jagdev Singh Lambardar, Jaspreet Singh Jassa and others were present.
