The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has dealt a major political blow to the Shiromani Akali Dal and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jalandhar. Several prominent grassroots leaders, regarded as strong pillars of the Shiromani Akali Dal and the BJP in the Jalandhar Cantonment area, have joined the Aam Aadmi Party along with hundreds of their supporters.
Chief Minister's OSD Rajbir Singh Ghuman formally inducted all these leaders into the party and welcomed them. On this occasion, OSD Rajbir Singh Ghuman said that the primary objective of the Aam Aadmi Party's politics is the holistic development of Punjab and ensuring basic facilities for the common people.
He said that today every section of Punjab is satisfied with the policies of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, which is why respected and experienced leaders from every corner of the state are continuously becoming part of the Aam Aadmi Party. He added that all the leaders joining the party will be given full respect and recognition, and with their support, development works in the Jalandhar region will gain further momentum.
The prominent leaders who joined the Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday include Shiromani Akali Dal's Jalandhar Cantonment constituency president and Sarpanch Lovpreet; BJP Cantonment Board Jalandhar Youth President Aryan Bhatti; and Chairman of the Bhavdas SC Community and retired PSPCL SDO Pal Ram Bhatti. Along with them, BJP District Spokesperson Harsh Bhardwaj, District General Secretary Ramesh Pal, BJP Youth Vice President Mohitpreet Singh, Shiromani Akali Dal Panchayat Member Vijay Kumar, Raj Rani, and Amarjeet also joined the Aam Aadmi Party.
The leaders who joined the party voiced that they were disappointed with the factionalism and anti-people attitude of the traditional parties. They said they are deeply impressed by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's clean and people-centric style of governance.
They assured that they would work with complete dedication and honesty to strengthen the party and take the government's welfare schemes to every household.
