A tragic road accident near the Angrezi Dhala railway crossing under the Singhaul police station area in Bihar's Begusarai claimed the lives of three young men and left nine others injured, casting a pall of grief over the Pokharia locality. The two SUVs collided head-on near the railway crossing while travelling from opposite directions late Sunday night.

The impact of the collision was so severe that both vehicles were badly mangled, leaving passengers trapped inside and causing panic and chaos at the scene. The deceased have been identified as Rishabh Kumar (26), son of Lalan Paswan of Pokharia Ward No. 37; Sunny Kumar (24), son of Baiju Sharma; and Himanshu Kumar (22), son of Chikku Sah alias Rajan of Ward No. 36.

Police and local residents said that six friends from Pokharia had set out late at night in a Scorpio to visit Simaria for a holy dip in the Ganga River. As their vehicle approached Angrezi Dhala, it collided violently with another Scorpio coming from the opposite direction.

The high-speed impact left both vehicles severely damaged. The sound of the collision and cries for help drew local residents to the spot, who immediately launched rescue efforts. Residents nearby rushed to the accident site and helped pull the injured occupants from the wrecked vehicles.

All the injured were taken to hospitals for treatment, with eight of them undergoing treatment at a private hospital. The deceased Rishabh Kumar was pursuing his B.A. Part 1 studies at SBS College and was the youngest among three brothers.

Sunny Kumar was the third among four brothers in his family. The tragedy has deeply affected the Pokharia locality. The victims were associated with a wedding procession, and what had begun as a festive occasion turned into an atmosphere of mourning within moments.

Heart-rending scenes unfolded at the homes of the deceased as family members broke down upon receiving the news. After receiving information about the incident, Singhaul police reached the spot, seized both damaged vehicles, and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.

Authorities are examining whether overspeeding, poor visibility, or other factors contributed to the fatal collision. The incident has once again highlighted concerns over road safety and high-speed driving, particularly during late-night travel, as Begusarai mourns the loss of three young lives.
