With the objective of promoting the overall development of children by equipping them with vocational skills as well as disaster preparedness. The Social Welfare and Awareness Society (Regd.), Batala organized a Disaster Managemrnt Camp. Post Warden Harbakhash Singh & CD Volunteer Manider Kaur, Social worker Rattan Batwal, Society President Jatinder Singh, teachers Simranjit Kaur and Randeep Kaur and students present where.

On the occasion Post Warden Harbakhash Singh said that natural disasters are as old as human civilization itself. Due to their increasing frequency and intensity, the resulting loss of life and property has become a matter of national and global concern. He explained that while disasters cannot be prevented, their impact can be significantly reduced through proper awareness, preparedness, and timely response. 

He further informed the participants that disasters are broadly classified into two categories: Natural & Man-Made Disasters. Natural disasters include earthquakes, forest fires, floods, tsunamis, cyclones, storms, landslides, lightning etc and flash floods. Man-made disasters wars, road, rail and air accidents, fire incidents, bomb blasts, terrorism, collapse of multi-storey buildings,  gas leaks, biological hazards, pandemics, insect infestations, and epidemics affecting livestock etc.

After CD Volunteer Maninder Kaur shared her experiences and highlighted how the safety techniques and basic life-saving skills taught during Civil Defence training camps can help save precious lives during emergencies. She emphasized that every citizen should be aware of the "Do's & Don'ts" during disasters and encouraged the participants to join Civil Defence as volunteers to serve the nation. 

During the interactive session, questions raised by Jasleen Kaur and Aman were answered in detail by the resource persons. On end of Camp Rattan Batwal and Society President Jatinder Singh expressed their gratitude to the Civil Defence team. 

They emphasized that Civil Defence awareness and emergency preparedness are essential for every citizen and appreciated the efforts of the Civil Defrence team in organizing such informative awareness camps.
