Reaffirming the Haryana government's commitment to rural transformation, Education Minister, Sh, Mahipal Dhanda on Friday said that expanding basic civic infrastructure in villages remains one of the government's foremost priorities. He said empowering gram panchayats with essential resources is key to achieving the vision of self-reliant and well-equipped villages.
The Minister was addressing a programme organised by the Panipat Zila Parishad at Siwah village, where water tankers and public benches were distributed to several gram panchayats. The event was presided over by Zila Parishad Chairperson, Smt. Jyoti Sharma.
Sh. Mahipal Dhanda said the state government is working with a clear focus on strengthening rural infrastructure and ensuring that every village has access to quality public amenities. Government’s objective is to improve the quality of life in rural areas by providing essential infrastructure and ensuring that villages become stronger partners in Haryana's development journey, he said.
Describing panchayats as the backbone of rural governance, the Minister said equipping them with adequate resources is a government priority. He said that water tankers and public benches are not merely assets; they are facilities that directly improve the daily lives and convenience of villagers.
He further said that the government remains committed to the principle of Antyodaya by ensuring that the benefits of development reach the last person in society, and assured that similar initiatives for rural development would continue in the future. Presiding over the function, Zila Parishad Chairperson Jyoti Sharma said the Panipat Zila Parishad has been consistently accelerating development works across rural areas with public welfare as its central focus.
