National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026 was conducted smoothly and successfully today at 29 designated examination centres across District Anantnag. The District Administration had made elaborate arrangements in advance, deploying adequate manpower and logistics alongside robust security and surveillance protocols to ensure full integrity of the process.

To ensure fairness and transparency as well as compliance with the NTA guidelines, certain key measures including deployment of observers, magistrates, superintendents, deputy superintendents, supervisors, and invigilating staff were put in place. Further, proper advance training of the deployed staff as well as mock drill had been conducted as part of the preparatory process.

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, accompanied by ADM (ACR), Tariq Ahmad Malik and other concerned officials, visited several centres including SHMM, GDC (Boys) and GDC (Women) to take a firsthand stock of the arrangements, logistics and available facilities.

The centre staff briefed him about the specific measures taken for candidate verification, seating arrangements, and technical readiness of the venues. He instructed the concerned officials that the examination be conducted strictly as per the guidelines and SOPs issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA) while extending full support and guidance to the candidates for their ease and convenience.

Additionally, a full fledged District Control Room was established for real time monitoring and coordination besides promptly responding to any emergent issue.  Appreciating the duty staff for holding the test in a successful and incident free manner, the DC said that administration was committed to ensure seamless and hassle free conduct of the overall process.

Notably, out of 9404 candidates, 8488 appeared for the test at the designated exam centres. They expressed satisfaction on the overall arrangements and the conducive environment provided to them during the test.
